Person-Centred (Humanistic) Therapy
Focuses on growth and healing through a supportive, non-judgmental relationship built on empathy and acceptance.
Person-Centred Therapy, also known as Humanistic Therapy, is built on the belief that every person has the capacity for growth and self-healing when given the right conditions. Developed by Carl Rogers, this approach places the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the work.
As your therapist, I offer three core conditions: unconditional positive regard (genuine acceptance without judgement), empathy (truly understanding your experience), and congruence (being authentic and honest in our relationship). These create a safe environment where you can explore your feelings freely.
How Person-Centred Therapy Can Help
- Self-acceptance and a kinder relationship with yourself
- Emotional clarity through exploring feelings in a safe space
- Empowerment to make your own choices and decisions
- Improved relationships through greater self-understanding
- Reduced distress as you process difficult emotions
- Self-directed change that feels authentic to who you are
What to Expect
In person-centred sessions, you set the agenda. There is no prescribed homework or structured programme. Instead, I provide a warm, accepting space where you can talk about whatever matters most to you. Over time, this process naturally leads to greater self-understanding, clarity, and personal growth.
This approach is particularly effective for those who feel they have lost touch with themselves, are struggling with self-esteem, or simply need a space to be truly heard.
